JadeStack is a Mahjong solitaire game with a jade look: 72 tiles are stacked in several layers to form a shape, such as a pagoda, a dragon or a lotus. You remove two matching free tiles at a time until the whole stack is cleared.

Mahjong solitaire rules

Tap two matching tiles to remove the pair. This only works with free tiles.
A tile is free when nothing lies on it – not even partly – and its left or right side is open. One open side is enough.
Identical pictures match. The exception: any season matches any other season, and any flower matches any other flower.
Once every tile is gone, the stack is solved.

Tiles and shapes

72 tiles (36 pairs): circles, bamboo and characters from 1 to 9, the four winds and three dragons, each picture twice, plus two seasons and two flowers.
13 shapes with 2 to 4 layers: Pagoda, Jade Mountain, Dragon, Turtle, Fish, Butterfly, Heart, Pyramid, Castle, Lantern, Pine, Crescent Moon and Lotus.
Every deal is freshly shuffled and still solvable: the generator builds it backwards, and a solver has confirmed this for 10,000 deals per shape.
For each shape the game remembers your best time and whether you solved it without help.

Controls

Tap or click a tile to select it; a matching second tile removes the pair. A blocked tile gives a little wobble.
Undo has no limit, and Hint shows a pair you can remove right now.
The eye icon highlights free tiles and dims blocked ones.
Keyboard: H hint, Z undo, F highlight free tiles.
In the settings you can turn off the timer, music, sound effects and the animation when pairs are removed.

Tips

Every tile has exactly one partner: in JadeStack each picture appears only twice, and there are only two seasons and two flowers. So you never have to choose between identical tiles, and removing a free pair never ruins the solution.
Watch the counter: "Free pairs" tells you how many pairs can be removed right now. If you can't see one, keep looking instead of tapping at random.
Highlighting free tiles (F) does not count as help, and it shows at a glance which tiles you can use.
Mind the half offsets: a tile that is even partly covered by another one is blocked.
For "solved without help" only hints count. You can undo as often as you like.
