Play Dice Poker online for free
Dice Poker is the popular game of five dice and a scorecard: roll up to three times, hold the dice you need and enter the result in one of 13 boxes – from Ones to Five of a Kind. The highest total wins.
On PanicLines you play for free in your browser on phone, tablet and computer, with no download and no sign-up. Beat your own highscore solo, take on one to three computers at three levels, or play with up to four people on one device; a solo game takes about five minutes.
Rules
- Each turn has up to three rolls. After the first and second roll you hold any dice and roll only the rest again.
- Then you enter the result in one open box of your scorecard. If nothing fits, you score a box with 0. After 13 turns the card is full.
- Upper section: Ones to Sixes count the pips of the matching dice. Reach 63 points there for a 35 point bonus.
- Lower section: Three and Four of a Kind (sum of all dice), Full House (25), Small Straight (30), Large Straight (40), Five of a Kind (50) and Chance (sum).
- Every further Five of a Kind earns a 50 point bonus and acts as a joker: first into its upper box, otherwise into any open lower box for full points.
Modes and computer levels
- Solo: you against your own highscore. Your best games and statistics are saved.
- Against the computer with one to three opponents: Easy simply holds the most frequent number, Medium holds by expected value, Hard calculates every roll of the turn and plays for the bonus.
- Pass and play: two to four named players pass the phone around.
Controls
- Tap Roll, then tap the dice you want to hold; held dice lift and glow gold.
- Your column on the scorecard shows what each open box would score right now. Tap the row to enter it.
- The computer's turns play out step by step; Skip jumps ahead. On a computer, keys 1 to 5 hold dice and R rolls.
Tips and strategy
- Watch the bonus: three of each number make exactly 63. Four sixes easily make up for weak ones.
- Save the Chance: it is your safety net for a failed turn. Use it early and you will have to score zeros more often later.
- Keep straights open: with four in a row (say 2-3-4-5) the Small Straight is safe and you have two rolls for the Large one.
- Sacrifice the Ones: if you have to score a zero, Ones or Five of a Kind cost the least.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Dice Poker free here?
- Yes. You play right in your browser with no sign-up and no download, and there is nothing to buy.
- Can several people play on one phone?
- Yes. In pass-and-play mode two to four people take turns on the same phone or tablet, each with their own column on the scorecard.
- How does the Five of a Kind joker work?
- Once the Five of a Kind box is filled, a further Five of a Kind must go into its upper box if that is open. Otherwise it scores in full in any open lower box, also as a Full House or straight. With 50 in the Five of a Kind box you also get a 50 point bonus.
- Are my highscore and statistics saved?
- Yes. Without an account the game in progress, highscores and statistics stay in this browser; with a PanicLines account they are kept in your account and are the same on every device.
