ShelfShuffle is a sorting puzzle on a shop shelf: everyday items sit mixed up in its compartments – mugs, teddies, soaps, tulips, pretzels and many more, 61 kinds drawn as stickers. Move them from compartment to compartment. When three of a kind share a compartment, they vanish and the row behind moves forward.
Free places are few, so you shuffle things around and plan ahead. 200 levels in 10 chapters are waiting, each one guaranteed to be solvable, and Mila the shop mouse cheers whenever a shelf is cleared. It is free to play in your browser on phone, tablet and PC, with no download and no sign-up.
How to play
- Drag an item to a free place in another compartment – or tap it, then tap the compartment it should go to.
- Every compartment has three places. Three of a kind in one compartment vanish, and the row behind moves forward.
- Only the front row is within reach; the number on a compartment shows how many rows are still waiting behind it.
- Goal: clear the whole shelf, with no time limit. Use few moves and you earn up to three stars.
Chapters, levels and stars
- 10 chapters of 20 levels each: Kitchen, Nursery, Bathroom, Garden, Desk, Bakery, Beach, Workshop, Music room and Holidays – 200 levels.
- Every level holds 100 groups of three, that is 300 items. At the start no kind is in sight more than twice; you have to dig the third one out of the rows behind.
- Conveyor belt levels: from chapter 2, every fourth level is a conveyor belt. On the sideways belt two rows run right, one stands still and two run left; on the up-and-down belt the left column runs up and the right one down.
- Always solvable: every level is generated from a seed and played through once by the generator. Its move count is the target for the stars: three stars up to 15 % above it, two up to 50 % above it.
- The levels of a chapter open one after another. A new chapter opens with 30 stars in the chapter before it, or when all of that chapter's levels are cleared.
Controls and help
- Phone and tablet: drag an item, or tap it and then tap the target compartment.
- Mouse: drag an item, or click it and then click the compartment.
- Keyboard: ← → ↑ ↓ choose a place, Enter picks up or puts down, Esc cancels, Z undoes the last move.
- Help: unlimited undo, three hints per level and restart.
- Settings: music, sound effects, reduced motion and vibration can each be switched on or off.
Tips for three stars
- Keep places free: an empty place is worth more than a quick move. Do not fill every compartment at once.
- Collect pairs: when two of a kind already share a compartment, keep its third place free until the third one turns up.
- Look behind: the number on a compartment tells you where rows are still waiting. Clear the compartments with a lot behind them first.
- Use undo: there is no limit to undo. Try a line and take it back if it does not work out.
- Watch the belt: on conveyor belt levels the compartments move. Watch where they travel before you put an item down.
